Facebook will allow small and medium-sized business owners (SMEs) in Spain to create a ‘Fundraising’ on the social network for your own business, a service so far only available for personal profiles and communities, and thus ask your loyal clients to help you in this “especially critical” period as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
In a statement, Facebook notes that during the Covid-19 epidemic it has been watching communities come together on their platform to promote mutual aid and promote the local economy, and among them are companies and entrepreneurs who suffer especially the economic consequences of social isolation.
For this reason, it has decided to introduce new ways to help local Spanish businesses and allow SMEs to create a ‘Fundraising’, something that until now only personal profiles could do and that necessarily concerned a non-profit organization or a personal cause.
In addition to Spain, this expansion donation tool to SMEs applies Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
To get this process up and running, the user simply selects the ‘Fundraising’ button from the left menu of the Facebook News Feed, select the option that best suits your needs and follow the instructions provided.
“We know that in these difficult times small businesses are suffering and making a huge effort to succeed. Today more than ever, we want to be by their side and accompany them, providing them with access to the help of our entire solidarity community”, said the CEO of Facebook in Spain and Portugal, Irene Cano.
